Since the 2002 vintage, the Riverland Winegrape Growers Association (RWGA) has been funded via the Riverland Wine Industry Fund which operates under the provisions of the Primary Industries Funding Scheme Act 1998.
Contributions from Riverland winegrape growers for every tonne crushed in the Riverland is paid via the fund to the RWGA. Contributions from Riverland winemakers for every tonne crushed is paid via the fund to the Riverland Winemakers Association (RWA).

The association has an executive management committee of 10 elected growers with an independant chair and works closely with the Riverland Wine Industry Development Council (RWIDC). Both organisations signed a memorandum of understanding in 2010 to collaborate in the interests of streamlining operational activities and optimising returns for members.
